This will be super quick on the writing . . . I am proofing (what seems like) zillions of pictures right now (I now see how an assistant would come in very useful!) and so I have very very limited time. But here are some faves from a recent maternity session. Oh how I ADORE maternity. I have said it before and I will say it again, there is NOTHING more beautiful to me than the pregnant belly and how a woman glows during pregnancy. And with this spectacular family, I couldn't have had any better results with the photos. Beth, Rod, and Daniel . . . all so absolutely beautiful . . . :c) Big huge thanks go out to each one of you!! Love you!
Finally work is picking up again. It's always like this after Christmas until springtime. And that's okay, too. It gives me time to catch up on a little of everything. I kinda like it. Now it's time to get a movin' again.
This past weekend I welcomed my busy season with a maternity session of Corie and Keith -- two friends of mine. Oh how I love maternity sessions and oh how I love pregnant bellies -- pregnant women just glow and their bellies are just amazing -- nothing more perfect than a pregnant belly with a dootle-bug growing snuggly inside -- especially a dootle of a friend :c)
We had such a fabulous time. Here's a peek at just three pictures. I
haven't even looked at more than these myself, so peeking slightly fulfilled my own curiosity -- some ;c) Hope yours gets filled too and brings
you coming back for more. I'll post as many as I can over the coming
Only a few more weeks and Cor will have this baby girl! I'm dying to
know her name. Corie and Keith would not budge even a tiny bit, but I
did manage to get some initials out. They are so dang mean! Talk
about curiosity! It kills me, I'm tellin' ya! Ah well. I can't really complain because Neil and I were the same way. It's just now I know how it feels! :c)
They were probably laughing here in this picture about the name that only they know. Meanies! Just kidding! I think they were just in hysterics over how Keith was unable to stick out his stomach. Corie kept saying "is that all you can do?!"
With the help of studio lighting and some natural lighting, I think this shot turned out amazing. I'm very very pleased.
And this has got to be one of my best light bulb moments ever, coming up with this idea. I had never been so prepared for a shoot before and then I almost totally forgot about doing this well-planned ice cream pose . . . until Corie (or was it Keith?) mentioned "pickles"near the very end. It was an "ah-ha!" moment for me . . . you know the pregnant craving "pickles and ice cream"?! Soooo glad we had time to do this shot. I love love love how it turned out although next time I will either do a colored shirt or a colored background of some sort.
Jen is a wonderful woman who has agreed to let me be in the birthing room with her when she has her baby. You know how exciting this is for me as a photographer?! Call me up and ask me and I'll probably scream in your ear. That's how excited I am!
My very good friend, Leann, is a certified Doula and Childhood Birth Educator. She is top-notch in her game! I now live in the same town as she, and she and I have sort of joined forces in what we do! She refers her clients to me and I refer my clients to her! We hope and pray that this is going to lead us down a new road. We shall see. I am very hopeful with this opportunity.
So I met Jen for the first time last week. What a great lady she is. She is so laid back and fun. Probably why she is allowing me to be there with her. Me a total stranger, and she a woman of intense pain! How brave she is! But when I think about two events . . . two most profound events in my life . . . I wish *I* had the opportunity to have had a photographer in my room during those events. Unfortunately that did not work out for me, but it just might for Jen. (And Lindsey, my other client-to-be!)
When I met Jen, I got a couple cute pictures of her belly. Wow, she has got a chunky-monkey in that oven of hers! I also got to meet Josh, her adorable son, soon-to-be big brother! We had a really fun time.
Hope I will be back soon posting news about Jen's birth and my experience on a total new end (no pun intended at all!) as a photographer just there to get some amazing shots of life being born. Wish me luck! :c)
This one is kind of bittersweet. Leann and I were talking and decided this picture symbolizes a lot. One child growing up and flying away, another about to come into this world. Awwww..... *tear*
